Romans 13: 8-14

(Romans 13: 8-14)

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Life is, without exception, essentially, wholly and completely corrupt beings. The packaging of human beings is plausible, and it is only good at deceit, but even if words can express the darkness and dirtiness of the human mind and its ugliness in words, it cannot be seen well. How spiritually blind life has been, has no power to make oneself good, nor the power to return to God on its own. Life is a sense of strength and incompetence, and it is hard to find it as a hope for life itself. Life with even a little conscience only clamors with painful conflicts. Oh, I am a poor man.

This is the declaration of Romans. Psalm 51:5 also says, Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. This confession of David is the confession of Romans. In Romans 2:10-16

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.  For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;  (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.  For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Obviously, there is something between the declaration and confession of life's disastrous state, from the text. It is Jesus Christ. In Romans 8:2, ``For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
If you are in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit guides you. In order to enter into Jesus Christ, he must deny his sinful self, and the old man must die on the cross with Jesus. This is the essence of repentance. Repentance is realizing that it is the kind of being that has no choice but to die on the cross and become dead with Jesus. It is true that although the Lamb died instead, the Lamb that died was a sinner.
