Romans 6:4-7

(Romans 6:4-7)

『Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.』

 

The oldself (soul) is an attribute that appears from the body. The oldself (soul) thinks as the master of the body. Even though there is a word of God's promise, the oldself does accoding to what he thinks. The oldself is the root of sin. The oldself is the mind of the greed that wants to be like God. So the Bible says that the oldself must be die.

 

The Saint informs to God the death of the oldself through baptism. And Saint believes that when the oldself is died, he revives as a spiritual body. Althought the saint exiests in the world, but his status changes to the people of the kingdom of God. The flesh exiests by the law of the world, but the mind exiests by the law of the Spirit.

 

『For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.』(Romans 8:5-7) The Saint believes that the oldself was dead in this world already. So the Saint believes to born again in the kingdom of God.

 

『Having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.』(Colossians 2:12) You have to be born again. It is my choice that the death of the mind(soul). God gives the power to the spirit when the mind of the body is died. So the soul is associated as death of Jesus on the cross. The death of the cross is not suicide. Salvation is not eliminating sin.“Oldself”that the root of sin has to be die. This is the circumcision.『In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ.』(Colossians 2:11) Circumcision is a sign that removes the body as“oldself(or old man)”.

 

Oldself of all man is a lump of sin. Oldself is the son of the devil, every man has an oldself that want to be like God another name for the soul is old self. We must remove the old self. When old self is removed, a newself is born.『Having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.』(Colossians 2:12) God does not forgive oldself. So old self must be die. As long as old self lives, he can not enter into the kingdom of God. Oldself loves the world.

 

『For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.』(Romans 6:6-7) If old self is died, God forgives sin. Repentance is the death of old self.
